Custom software development in Node.js, Python and Django
Vexio delivers custom software development in Node.js, Python and Django: web applications, internal tools, APIs and integrations, deployed on Cloudflare, AWS or Azure. You get working software your team can run and change, plus the documentation and deployment to go with it. If a project also needs an AI agent, an MCP server or an advertising data pipeline, the same team builds it.

Built with
Illustration of an example architecture, not a client system.
Four kinds of custom software we build.
We write for the people who will own the software afterwards: readable code, tests where they matter, documentation and a deployment they can repeat.
-
Web applications
Customer-facing and business apps with sign-in, a relational database and an admin area, written so your team can maintain them.
-
Internal tools and back-offices
Dashboards, review queues and admin screens that replace the spreadsheets and manual steps your team works around today.
-
APIs and integrations
Services that connect your systems to each other and to outside providers, with input checks, retries and error messages a person can act on.
-
Data pipelines and automation
Scheduled and event-driven jobs that move, clean and report on data, written in Python or Node.js.
Node.js, Python or Django: how we choose.
The problem decides, not habit. Before the scope is agreed, we tell you which one fits your project and why.
-
Node.js
APIs, real-time and edge services
Fits API layers, services that hold many open connections and code that runs close to users on Cloudflare Workers.
-
Python
Data, automation and AI
The main language for data work and most AI tooling. Also a sound choice for backend services and scripts.
-
Django
Full applications, fast
When an app needs sign-in, an admin interface and a relational database from day one, Django ships all three as part of the framework.
How a custom software project runs: scope first, then short cycles.
- 01
Scoping conversation
We listen to the problem, the systems involved and the constraints. You get a written scope, an approach and a way to judge success before work starts.
- 02
Prototype or design
A small working version or a design that you can test against your own data, so the main risks surface early and cheaply.
- 03
Build
Development in short cycles with working software at the end of each, reviewed with you.
- 04
Test and harden
Automated tests, agreed evaluation cases for anything AI-driven, security review of access and secrets.
- 05
Deploy and hand over
Release to your environment, with documentation, runbooks and a handover session for the people who will run it.
Engineering practice
What we do on every project.
The same four habits apply whatever the stack.
- Every change is reviewed, and the parts that must not break have automated tests
- A build and deploy pipeline from the first week, so a release is routine
- Secrets stay out of the code, and access is scoped per environment
- Scope and milestones are written down, and you review working software on a regular rhythm
Questions on custom software.
We build web applications, internal tools and back-offices, APIs and integrations, and data pipelines, mostly in Node.js and Python, with Django where a full framework fits. You get the code, tests, documentation and a repeatable deployment. The same team also builds custom AI agents, MCP servers and advertising data pipelines.
The problem decides. Node.js suits APIs and real-time services, Python suits data and AI work, and Django suits applications that need an admin area, sign-in and a relational database from day one. Before the scope is agreed, we tell you which one fits your project and why.
Yes. We can take over, extend or modernise an existing application. The first step is a review of the code, the deployment and the tests, which tells us what is safe to change and what needs work before anything new is added.
In short cycles, with working software at the end of each one that you review. Scope, milestones and how we communicate are written down at the start. At each review you see the software running, not a slide deck. The project ends with deployment, documentation and a handover session.
On Cloudflare, AWS or Azure, in your own account if you prefer. We set up the hosting, the deployment pipeline and monitoring as part of the project. We can also deploy to a setup you already run, if that is where your team works. See cloud and DevOps for what that work includes.
We do not publish a price list. Cost depends on scope, integrations and how much needs to be built from scratch. We agree a written scope after a first conversation and quote against it. Describe the project on the demo form and we reply by email.
Yes. If an application should let an AI assistant read data or take actions, we add an MCP server with scoped permissions and approvals, or build an agent around one job. Write actions can wait for a person to approve them. See AI agent development and MCP server development.
