Google Ads AI and automation: GAQL, BigQuery and campaign structure
Vexio works on Google Ads end to end. For Google Ads AI and automation, that means designing campaign, ad group and asset group structure, writing the GAQL queries behind your reporting, loading the results into BigQuery or PostgreSQL, and building agents that draft changes for your approval. Optimisation support is part of the work.

What Vexio covers in Google Ads.
Five areas. What your case needs is settled in a scoping conversation. No volumes, client names or results are published here.

Account structure and campaign build
Account, campaign and ad group layout, keyword lists and Performance Max asset groups, prepared from spreadsheets and checked before they go live.
-

Advertising data pipelines → -
Automation
Scripts and scheduled jobs for routine account work, such as budget checks and search term reviews.
-

The platform
How a Google Ads account is laid out.
Google Ads is Google's advertising platform. It covers search, shopping, display and video campaigns, including automated campaign types such as Performance Max.
In the platform's own terms
- An account holds campaigns. A campaign holds ad groups, or asset groups in Performance Max. Ad groups hold keywords and ads.
- Bids, budgets and targeting sit at campaign or ad group level, depending on the campaign type.
- The Google Ads API is queried with GAQL, a SQL-like language that selects fields from resources such as campaign, ad_group and search_term_view.
- Google also offers Google Ads Editor, a free desktop app, and spreadsheet-based bulk uploads.

When Google Ads work outgrows the interface.
Agencies and ecommerce teams run many accounts, ad groups and keyword lists. Creating them one at a time in the interface does not scale, so structure gets prepared in a spreadsheet. Reporting has the same problem: numbers that stay inside Google Ads cannot be joined to your sales, so they move to a warehouse.
Google Ads data in BigQuery.
Google offers a BigQuery transfer service, and the Google Ads API is the alternative when you need specific fields, history or control over timing. We help you choose, then build the pipeline: GAQL queries on a schedule, clean tables and loads into BigQuery or PostgreSQL in your account. Each pipeline is built per engagement. See advertising data pipelines (ETL) and the article Google Ads to BigQuery: transfer service, API or connector?.

Questions on Google Ads AI.
Yes. We choose between Google's BigQuery transfer service and a Google Ads API pipeline based on the fields, history and timing you need. Then we build it: GAQL queries on a schedule, clean tables and loads into BigQuery in your account. See Google Ads to BigQuery options.
GAQL is the Google Ads Query Language. It reads like SQL and selects fields from Google Ads resources such as campaigns, ad groups and search terms. It is how the Google Ads API returns reporting data. Vexio writes the queries behind your reports and loads the results into your warehouse.
Google Ads Editor is free and right for many single-account edits. Vexio helps when you need row-by-row checks on large files, repeatable builds across accounts or API-driven work. See Google Ads Editor vs bulk upload vs API for the trade-offs.
Google Ads has its own automated bidding and campaign types such as Performance Max. Vexio adds agents on top: they read your account data, draft changes and wait for a person to approve them. Nothing is published without that step. See AI agents.
