Shopify ads: connect your store data to your ad spend

Vexio works on Shopify end to end. For Shopify ads, that means treating your store as the source of truth: product, price and inventory data feed the campaign files for your ad accounts, and orders are joined to ad spend in your warehouse so you can see return by product. Automation, agents and ongoing optimisation support sit on top.

The work

Where Vexio works with Shopify.

Scope is agreed in a scoping conversation. No volumes, client names or results are published here.

  • Account structure and campaign build

Campaign and product feed files built from store data, so ad structure follows the catalogue instead of drifting away from it.

  • Data pipelines and reporting

Products and orders loaded from your store and joined to ad spend from each ad platform in BigQuery or PostgreSQL, to report return by product.

    Advertising data pipelines →
  • Automation

Jobs that react to catalogue changes, for example flagging campaigns that promote products which are no longer available.

  • Agents and MCP

An agent that reads store and ad data through MCP tools and drafts campaign changes. A person approves them.

    AI agents →
  • Ongoing optimisation support

Review of results by product with your team and help acting on them, agreed per engagement.

The platform

What a Shopify store gives an ad team.

Shopify is a commerce platform on which merchants run online stores. A merchant's product catalogue and store data are what many ad campaigns on other platforms are built from.

In the platform's own terms

  • A Shopify store holds the products, prices, variants and inventory that product-based campaigns draw on.
  • Ads for a store usually run on other platforms, such as Google Ads, Meta Ads or TikTok Ads, or through marketing channels connected to the store.
  • Shopify's APIs expose products and orders, which is what makes it possible to join store results to ad spend.

The problem

One source of truth for products and campaigns.

When a catalogue changes, the campaigns that promote it have to change too. That is a bulk task: many products, many campaigns, one source of truth. Without it, ads keep promoting products that have changed price or sold out.

Store data joined to ad spend.

We load products and orders from your Shopify store on a schedule and place them in the same warehouse as your ad platform reports. That lets you read spend, orders and revenue by product in one table. Each pipeline is built per engagement, in your BigQuery or PostgreSQL account. See advertising data pipelines (ETL) and the article Data engineering services: a buyer's guide.

What we do

What Vexio does with Shopify.

The store is the source. Everything else follows from it. Related: AI agents and the campaign builder for bulk campaign upload.

  • Use store and catalogue data as the source for campaign files that go to your ad accounts.
  • Join store orders with advertising data in your warehouse to report return by product.
  • Write the checks that catch campaigns promoting products that changed or sold out.
  • Build agents and MCP tools that draft changes for your approval, and support optimisation over time.
FAQ

Questions on Shopify ads.
